More about Matt

Matt spent his first seventeen years moving from place to place with his Navy family. 

His first art lessons were as an eight year old while living in Japan.  This nomadic life continued

through three different high schools, followed by his studies at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh

and graduation in 1979 - Visual Communications. 

The next eight years were focused on commercial illustration for advertising and editorial clients

in the Washington, DC area.  In 1987, he founded Propeller Studio, a commercial art studio producing

commissioned work for a diverse clientele.   Services offered are the design and fabrication of 2D and 3D

visual elements for Advertising, Interior Design, Museum Design and Exhibit Design clients, utilizing a

hybrid skill set, mixed media combination of draftsmanship, mechanical design, fabrication, model making,

sculpting, painting and finishing techniques.

Clients include Sprint International, Lockheed Martin, National Confectioners Association,

Museum of Science and Industry Tampa, Disney, Smithsonian Museum of Natural History,

George Washington University, Maymont Richmond, NIH, American College of Cardiology,

Time Life, Discovery Channel, PBS, The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Quiznos, The Federal

Reserve Bank of Dallas, PCIA, U.S. Botanic Garden, P&O Nedlloyd, Mobil Oil, Fahrney’s Pens, Fed Micro,

Matt's current endeavors are more focused on making the artwork you see on this website and the

endless pursuit of fulfilling the inner calling to create beautiful, interesting and unique visual art.
